Headshaking is a challenging condition of some horses that can be due to a multitude of different reasons including dental problems, inappropriate tack, eye problems, behavioural abnormalities and many more. One of the challenges of this condition is to make the correct diagnosis, enabling us to give the most appropriate treatment and provide the best outcome. Melanie Perrier, Lecturer in Equine Surgery at RVC Equine, will go through some of the diagnostic tools that are available today to help diagnose the condition, including CT and diagnostic anaesthesia. She will also discuss some of the latest advances and newest treatment techniques that are available to treat this condition.

Mike Hewetson, Senior Lecturer in Equine Medicine at RVC Equine, will discuss the symptoms, causes and treatment of seizures in the horse. During this interactive lecture, Mike will outline what you as a horse owner can expect from your vet when faced with this rare condition, and will also discuss the implications for rider safety.
